You can put this solution on YOUR website! .
-5/2 - (-2/9) = - = =
write with the common denominator, which is 18
= + = + = = . ANSWER
The rules are:
(1) ADDING + =
you can work with the common denominator.
you also can take the product of the denominators - it works, too
= + = .
(2) SUBTRACTING - =
you can work with the common denominator.
you also can take the product of the denominators - it works, too
= - = .
You may solve ALL your problems ON YOUR OWN, by knowing and using these simple rules.
OK, if not all, then at least half of your problems.
If you want to learn this simple algebra (sorry, arithmetic), then you must do these simple steps on your own.
In this site, we do not teach from scratch - we are not a school.
We assume that the students come here just having basic knowledge and elementary skills.
In particular, we assume that you just are able to add and subtract fractions.

This quasi- and pseudo-tutor @josgaritmetic placed totally incorrect solution in his post.
The tutor @MathTherapy noticed it, and then I placed a correct solution.
After that @josgarithmetic quickly re-wrote from my post, without acknowledgement (of course).
It is not something EXTRAORDINARY - he does it EVERY day.
As a tutor, he equals to zero and have no any relevant qualification.
If you are new at this forum, you should know it.
Be aware : every second - third - fourth his "solution" is INCORRECT.
