*[youtube USn9Qt_PLtQ] In this video lesson, I explain what the logarithm is and show where it comes from. Put simply, the logarithm is the inverse of the exponent. This means that, if you plug x into a logarithm base a, you get the number so that a to this power gives you x. It is the opposite of the exponent, which, given your base a, when you plug in x gives you a to the x. For more details and some helpful drawings, watch the video!
