Question 1100699: This is my question: $980 was deposited at 7% interest compounded continuously. How much was there at the end of 9 years? My answer was $1842.40 and the answer book says that the correct answer was $1840. Was I simply not told to round, or was my answer incorrect? Thank you!

Question 1101593: Hello, I have been trying this exercise but cannot solve it. I need to find the x values that comply with this equation. I know the answer, found it numerically, but I have not an algebraic procedure.
0.485 = (x^2 * e^x) / (e^x - 1)^2
I get stucked at the Ln of e^x - 1 because the Ln of a substraction brings again the Ln of a substraction (or an addition)

Question 1101905: This question is more for confirmation because I can't afford to get this wrong. The problem I have is: The number of paramecia increased exponentially. At first there were 400,000. Three days later there were 1,200,000. How many paramecia would there be at the end of 8 days? My answer is 7,720,000. Am I right? If not, would you be so kind as to teach me how to solve the problem correctly? Thank you so much!

Question 1102002: I don't know if I Can include links to photos, so i dont know how to include the graph here. But the question is
Some bullfrogs were introduced into a small pond. The graph shows the bullfrog population for the next few years. Assume that the population grows exponentially.
https://www.webassign.net/sprecalc6/4-6-012.gif
Find a function that models the bullfrog population t years since the bullfrogs were put into the pond. (Round your r value to four decimal places.)
(d) Estimate how long it takes the population to reach 97,000. (Round your answer to the nearest whole number.)
I dont understand how to get a function from a graph. The graph has the points (0,100) as the initial and then gives us the point (2, 225) as well.

Question 1103352: I have a problem: In the beginning there were 40. Their number increased exponentially. Five years later there were 140. How many would there be in 5 more years (a total of 10 years)?
My answer was 487.2, but I don't think I got it right. Can you help me solve this?

Question 1103698: I have a formula by Huebsher used in engineering duct design. It calculates the equivalent diameter of a round duct using length major (width) and length minor (height) of a rectangular duct. I need to solve this equation for the length major (width) of the rectangular duct because height and equivalent diameter of a round duct will be already known. The formula is where d=round duct diameter, b=length minor (duct height) and a=length major (duct width) I need to solve for a (a=???) I am making an Excel calculator for my duct sizing and the formula is solved for the wrong variable for my use.

Question 1104550: Please help me solve this word problem:
As a car ages, it's value decreases. The value of a particular car with an original purchase price of $25,600 is modeled by the function c(t)=25,600(1-0.22)^t, where c is the value at the time t. How old is the car when its value is $10,000? Round your answer to two decimal places.

Question 1104549: Please help me solve this word problem: in 1997, there were a total of 1,316,999 bankruptcies filed under the Bankruptcy Reform Act. The model for the number of bankruptcies filed is B(t)=0.798*1.164^t, where t is the number of years since 1994 and B is the number of bankruptcies filed in terms of millions (administrative office in US courts, statistical tables for the federal judiciary). In what year is it predicted that 12 million bankruptcies will be filed?
