Question 878788: I need help with this problem:
log(x-7) - log(8x-50) = log(1/x)
I need the exact solution and a two decimal place approximation when appropriate.
The book says that the answer is 10 but I'm not arriving at that answer when doing the problem.
Thank you!

Question 878789: Could someone help me with this problem?
log(x^2+6) - log(x+1) = 2 + log(x-1)
The book says that the answer is the sqrt (106/99) or approximately 1.03
I need to know the steps in completing this problems so I can learn how to do it for the test.
Thank you.

Question 881776: Good evening,
I am trying to solve this particular problem 3^x=25. I started off with doing the whole process of log base of 3 (25)=x, but I get stuck after I turn 25 into its exponential form and I do not know what to do with 3^x. Someone please help me on this topic. Thank you in advance.

Question 884530: The table below shows a person's bank account balance for 5 years.
Year
1998 1999 2000 2001 2002 2003
Balance ($)
9,000.00 9,270.00 9,548.10 9,834.54 10,129.58 10,433.47
a) Find an exponential model for this data, with t = 0 corresponding to 1998
B(t) =
b) Find this person's balance in 2010 if it continues to grow at the same rate
$
c) Estimate the year in which this person's account balance will reach $27000
I'm not sure where to begin this problem. I think I need it in the format B(t)= x^t but I'm not sure.

Question 886564: Solve the following equation for x:
log2(x + 7) + log2(x + 8) = 1
Note: Be sure to plug any solutions back into the original equation; if they don't work (e.g., you're forced to take the logarithm of a negative number, which is not possible), discard that solution.
