Question 616607: A painting contractor purchased 24 gallons of paint for the interior and exterior of a house. If he paid $18 per gallon for the interior paint and $22 per gallon for the exterior paint, the amount he paid is y=18x+22(24-x), where y represents the amount paid and x represents the number of gallons of interior paint.
a. Find the inverse function
b. What does each variable of the inverse function represent?
c. Use the inverse function to find the number of gallons of interior paint if he paid a total of $488 for the 24 gallons of paint.
