Question 371952: 1. Using a graphical utility and graph the exponential functions
y=4^x+1-2
x -2 -1 0 1 2
y 1.063 1.25 2 5 17
I am not sure if this is correct.
2. Using a graphical utility and graph the exponential function
s(t)= 2e^0.12t
t -2 -1 0 1 2
y 1.573 1.774 2 2.255 2.542
I am not sure if I did this the correct way I have the calculator model TI-30X

Question 371957: Use the one-to-one property to solve the equation for x
e^3x+2=e^3
3x+2=3
The answer is x=1/3
I thought you suppose to pull down the 3x+2
I am not sure how they came up with 1/3
2. complete the table to determine the balance A for P dollars invested at rate r for t years and compounded n times per year.
n 1 2 4 12 365 Continuous
A
P=$2500, r=3.5%, t=10 years
I am using my TI-30 calculator and I am not sure how to do it

Question 373068: find the degree of homogeneous function if they are homogeneous? For functions which are homogeneous, verify that their derivatives are homogeneous of degree k - 1. Also, verify that Euler's Theorem holds.
(a) g(x) = x^2 - 8x^3
(b) h(x) = squrx
(c) k(x) = 4 - x^2
(d) d(x) = 8x^4

Question 374179: A radioactive substance decats by 5% every hour. Intially rhere are 500g of substance.
a. How many grams remain after 6 hours?
b. What is the half life substance?
c. How long will it take the 500g to decay to 200g?

Question 374584: Find the inverse of the logarithmic function f(x)=-ln(x-2).
Steps I've done so far:
1. f(x)=-ln(x-2)
2. y=-ln(x-2)
3. x=-ln(y-2)
What is the next step? I am not sure what to do with -ln.
My instructor said the answer is: y=e^-x+2 but I don't know how he gets the -x. I know ln also stands for e.
y=-e^x+2 makes more sense to me.

Question 374505: List the transformations, in order, for the following function:
f(x)=4-3^x-1
The first thing I did was rewrite the function: f(x)=-3^(x-1)+4
- Horizontally shifts 1 unit to the right (because of (x-1))
- Reflects about the x-axis (because of the negative in front of the 3)
- Vertically shifts 4 units up (because of the +4)
Is this correct?
Does the function vertically stretch by a factor of 3?
In my notes a compress/stretch is said to be: a > 1 then vertically stretches by factor of a
0 < a < 1 vertically compresses by factor of a
But the instructor walked us through this problem but did not mention anything about a vertical stretch or compression.
