Question 602596: I need help understanding a couple problems. 1)Find the inverse function, f^ -1(x) for (2/3)x – 1/4
2) Find the inverse function f ^-1(x), for -5x + 6
3) Evaluate the equation below at x = -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3,and 4. y = x3 - 3x2 - 2x + 1 graph and plot points.
Thank you for your help and time it is appreciated.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
I need help understanding a couple problems.
1)Find the inverse function, f^ -1(x) for (2/3)x – 1/4
y = (2/3)x - 1/4
1st: Interchange x and y:
x = (2/3)y - 1/4
2nd: solve for "y":
(2/3)y = x+(1/4)
---
y = (3/2)x + (3/8)
f^-1(x) = (3/2)x+(3/8)
====================================

2) Find the inverse function f ^-1(x), for -5x + 6
y = -5x+6
1st: Interchange x and y:
x = -5y+6
2nd: Solve for "y":
5y = -x+6
y = (-1/5)x + (6/5)
f^-1(x) = (-1/5)x + (6/5)
====================================
3) Evaluate the equation below at x = -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3,and 4.
y = x^3 - 3x^2 - 2x + 1 graph and plot points.
---
I'll leave the evaluating to you.
