Question 591850: how do you simplify y(-y^3)^2
Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256) About Me  (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website!
y(-y^3)^2

y(-y^3)(-y^3)

y*(-1*(-1))*(y^3*y^3)

y(y^(3+3))

y*y^6

y^(1+6)

y^7

So y(-y^3)^2 = y^7 for all values of 'y'
