to solve this equation wou must simplify the equation to a common base. you can use logarithmic terms but in this case simplifying to a common base is easier.

in this case 9 can be simplified to 3%5E2
3%5E%283x-4%29=3%5E%282x%29+
cancel the base and you get simplified equation
3x-4=2x
add 4 to the other side
3x=2x+4
subtract 2x
x=4
In your equation x=4
