Question 535555:
5%5E%28x%2B3%29=6%5E%28x-5%29
I cannot figure out how to solve this with my TI-84. Could you please help me solve this? the power is not just x but x+3 over the 5 and x-5 over the 6. I am sorry I do not know how to illustrate this any better.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
ln5%5E%28x%2B3%29=ln6%5E%28x-5%29
xln(5)+3ln(5)=ln((x-5)ln(6))
xln(5)+3ln(5)=(xln(6)-5ln(6))
x(ln(5)-ln(6))=-3ln(5)-5ln(6)
x=(-3ln-5ln(6))/(ln(5)-ln(6)) ---Sorry can't post the {} thingy because it thinks 'ln' is a variable, so just think '/' as the fraction line.
