You can put this solution on YOUR website!
We have the following:
(i) 5%5E%28n-1%29+=+1%2F25
step 1 - rewrite 1/25 as a power if 5.
(ii) 5%5E%28n-1%29+=+5%5E%28-2%29
erase the base 5 and solve to get
(iii) n-1+=+-2
n+=+-1

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
can you help me solve 5%5E%28n-1%29+=+1%2F25
5%5E%28n-1%29=+1%2F25

Since the base of the exponent on the left is 5,
we try to write the 25 also as a power of 5. So
write 25 as 5%5E2

5%5E%28n-1%29=+1%2F%285%5E2%29

Now write the whole right side as a power of 5
by writing it as 5%5E%28-2%29

5%5E%28n-1%29=+5%5E%28-2%29

Now we use the principle that if two exponentials
are equal which have the same base, and the common base
is positive and not 1, then the exponents are
equal:

n-1=-2

n=-1
