Do you know the vertical asymptote of y = log(x) is at x = 0?

Do you see that your equation moves that graph one unit to the left
because is has the (x+1) replacing "x" in the log form?
So you have a vertical asymptote at x = -1
--------------------------
Can you follow this?
Since y = log[4](x+1)
x+1 = 4^y
x = (4^y) -1
----
So if y = 0, x will equal 0
The x and the y intercept will be (0,0)

Does that give you enough information to sketch the graph?
