ln%28e%5E%282x%29%29=ln%288%29 Take the natural log of both sides


2x%2Aln%28e%29=ln%288%29 Rewrite the left side using the identity ln%28x%5Ey%29=y%2Aln%28x%29%29. In other words, pull down the exponent and place it in front of the "ln"


2x%281%29=ln%288%29 Take the natural log of "e" to get 1


2x=ln%288%29 Multiply


x=ln%288%29%2F2 Divide both sides by 2 to isolate x


So the answer is x=ln%288%29%2F2 which approximates to x=1.03972
