Question 509565: Ok my teacher explained this to us, but she didn't explain the problems like the one in the following. Can you please help me solve it but, ill show you how i think its done too:
The instructions are: Use the distributive property to write each
expression as an equivalent algebraic expression.

Question 519311: Instructions are to simplify each expression and tell which property you used:
Ex. 6 x 23, teacher did example as =6(20+3) and indicates "distribute".
Ex. 13 x 12, teacher did example as =12 x 13 and indicates "commutative".
Is there any particular reason she didn't do the second example as =13(10+2) (distributive) or the first example as =23 x 6 (commutative)?
Can you just chose either randomly depending on what's convenient for mental math or is there an absolute answer?

Question 520539: I am really stuggling in Elementary and Intermediate Algebra. Math does not come very easily for me. I am stuck on equations and the distributive problems. I just dont understand why a problem like this.......
. I dont understand why the negative two that is in parenethis will change to positve. I just dont get understand the concept. Do you have any recommendations on how to apply this information and to help me understand math a little better. I am tring to learn as I go and I am not having much luck. Please if you have any information I would greatly appreciate it.
