Question 173395: I need help big time solving this problem. I despise fractions so any help would be greatly appreciated.
%281%2F3%29%284x%2B4%29+-+%282%2F3%29%285x-3%29
I have to combine the like terms and simplify the problem. Please help me! Also, can you please show the work so I can fully understand it?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
%281%2F3%29%284x%2B4%29+-+%282%2F3%29%285x-3%29

Factor out %281%2F3%29

%281%2F3%29%28matrix%283%2C1%2C%22%22%2C%284x%2B4%29-2%285x-3%29%2C%22%22%29%29

Remove the inner parentheses:

%281%2F3%29%28matrix%283%2C1%2C%22%22%2C4x%2B4-10x%2B6%2C%22%22%29%29

Collect like terms:

%281%2F3%29%28matrix%283%2C1%2C%22%22%2C-6x%2B10%2C%22%22%29%29

Put the -6x%2B10 over 1

%281%2F3%29%28matrix%281%2C1%2C%28-6x%2B10%29%2F1%29%29

Multiply numerators and denominators:

matrix%281%2C1%2C1%2A%28-6x%2B10%29%2F%283%2A1%29%29

Simplify

%28-6x%2B10%29%2F3

You can leave it like that or you can
make it a little bit shorter by writing
the terms in the top so that the negative
term comes second:

%2810-6x%29%2F3
