Question 380541: I need help doing this problem. I've tried several times but I can't get the correct answer. Write the equation that has the same x-intercept as the line -2x+3y-8=0 and is also perpendicular to the line 5x+2y-20=0.

y=kx K IS THE CONSTANT
C=kr
8 pie=k(4) divided by four
2 pie=k
C= 2 pie r

Question 387259: I have to take the compass test to exist out of math 099(algebra) before I can move on to college algebra, any suggestions on how to study for this type of test. I,m already stressed out over all these test at the end of this quarter. any last minute study tips will be helpful. I have already taken it once and failed I got a 25 and needed 37 but I am shooting for 40 and above. Any tips or maybe few web sites or math games that may be a help at this point. I will be needing a Tutor next quarter with college algebra (assuming I actually pass out of 099)

A pedestrian bridge is to be built over railroad tracks running through a town. The bridge will be perpendicular to the tracks and the middle of the bridge will be directly above the tracks. If the town is represented on a coordinate grid, the tracks are a straight line running through (1, -7) and (4, -1), with one end of the bridge at (-11, 4).
What are the coordinates of the other end of the bridge?
