Question 262337: The points(-1,-7) and (5,10) are the endpoints of the diameter of a circle. Graph the circle. Find an equation of the circle.
Cordinates of Midpoint of diameter of a circle=((x1 x2)/2, (y1 y2)/2): ((-1 5)/2, (-7 10)/2)=(2, 3/2). Where a=2 and b=3/2, radius r^2 =(a-x1)^2 (b-x2)^2: r^2=(2--1)^2 (3/2--7)^2, r=9.01. Eqn of circle: (x-a)^2 (y-b)^2=r^2: (x-2)^2 (y-3/2)^2=81.25.

Question 262671: Ordered pairs (0,2), (4,0), and (-4,0) are points on a circle. What is the radius of the circle, and what is the center point of the circle.
I don't want to be given the answer directly, I just want to know what formulas I should be using to solve this problem. I have tried using the distance formula to get the distance between (0,2) and either of the x intercepts. I tried finding the Y intercepts by replacing both X points in the circle equation, where (k,h) is the midpoint of the circle and r is the radius. I just need to figure out what the other y intercept is and I can answer the question, but I don't know how to figure it out. Please help.

Question 264035: Ok, my question reads, "Graph both of the following functions on the same coordinate system. State the point of intersection as an ordered pair." The functions it gives me are and . But how can I solve them if I don't know what y or x are? Am I supposed to make my own number for either y or x to solve it, or am I missing something? I know how to graph, and I can find the point of intersection, but I can't figure out how to solve the functions without a function table. Please help if you can? Thank you.
