Question 309884: graph y - 2 = -1/4(x - 2)
I know this is the point-slope equation, so I know the slope is -1/4, but uncertain how to determine what points to plot on a graph. Please help me create the graph.

You can put this solution on YOUR website! graph y - 2 = -1/4(x - 2)
------------
y - 2 = (-1/4)x + 1/2
y = (-1/4)x + 5/2
Pick 2 values for x, and find y
x...y
0...5/2 --> (0,2.5)
6...1 ---> (6,1)
--------------
Plot the 2 points, draw a line thru them.

Solve for "y":
y = (-1/4)(x-2) + 2
----
You only need two points to graph a line.
Let x = 2, then y = 0 + 2 = 2 giving you point (2,2)
Let x = 6, then y = (-1/4)(4)+2 = 1 giving you point (6,1)
---------------
Plot the two points and draw a line thru them to get:
