Question 122457: My directions read: find the slope of a line parallel to the line -x=2y+5. i think the answer to this question is m=-2. I'm not sure if i'm correct, but if i'm wrong show the correct answer and show how you got it. thank you for your time.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
-x=2y%2B5
First, put the given equation into y=mx+b form. Then you can just read the slope (m) off of the equation:
2y%2B5=-x
Add -5 to both sides of the equation:
2y=-x-5
Divide each side of the equation by 2:
y=-1x%2F2-5%2F2
Now, you can just read off the slope from the equation as the coefficient of x:
highlight%28m=-1%2F2%29

Good Luck,
