Question 116022: What is the equation of a line that has a slope of 3/4 and a x-intercept of 0?
And how do you do it...more importantly.
a) what is domain?
b) how would you graph of a line with a slope of 1?
c) The line with equation y=10x-2 intersects the x-axis at the point (a, 0). What is the value of a?
Thanks.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
What is the equation of a line that has a slope of 3/4 and a x-intercept of 0?
y = (3/4)x
----------------
And how do you do it...more importantly.
a) what is domain?
Domain: The set of all the Real Number Values that "x" can take.
---------------------
b) how would you graph of a line with a slope of 1?
Example: y = x+2
This line has a slope of 1 and a y-intercept of 2
Plot two points:
If x = 0, y = 2
If x= 1, y = 3
Plot the two points (0,2) and (1,3) and draw a line thru them.

c) The line with equation y=10x-2 intersects the x-axis at the point (a, 0). What is the value of a?
Let y = 0 and solve for "x":
0 = 10x-2
10x = 2
x = 1/5
-------
a = 1/5
