Question 814792: Circular plates with radius 6 cm are placed side by side on the top of a table. The table measures 2.4 m by 1.2 m.
Q- How many plates can fit side by side on the tabletop with no part of a plate extending over the edge of the table?
Answer by LinnW(1048) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Since the table is 2.4M by 1.2M
we can represent this as 240cm by 120cm.
With each plate 6cm in radius each diameter is 12cm.
20 plates can placed in a row 20 by 12cm or 240cm.
We can arrange 10 such rows on the table
for a total of 20 x 10 = 200 plates.
