You can put this solution on YOUR website!
For a sphere,
Vol+=+4%2Api%2Ar%5E3%2F3
r = 5.5 inches

Answer by rfer(16322) About Me  (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website!
V=(3.14*11^3)/6
V=4179.34/6
V=696.56 cu in
----------------
V=4/3*3.14*5.5^3
V=4/3*522.4175
V=2089.67/3
V=696.56 cu in

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
If the diameter is d=11, then the radius is r=d%2F2=11%2F2=5.5 inches. So r=5.5

V=%284%2F3%29pi%2Ar%5E3 Start with the volume of a sphere formula.

V=%284%2F3%29pi%2A%285.5%29%5E3 Plug in r=5.5.

V=%284%2F3%29%283.14159265%29%2A%285.5%29%5E3 Replace pi with 3.14159265 (note: Use more digits of pi to get better accuracy).

V=%284%2F3%29%283.14159265%29%2A%28166.375%29 Cube 5.5 to get 166.375.

V=%284%2F3%29%28522.68247714375%29 Multiply 3.14159265 and 166.375 to get 522.68247714375 (this figure is approximate).

V=696.909969525 Multiply 4%2F3 and 522.68247714375 to get 696.909969525 (again, this figure is approximate).

V=696.910 Round to the nearest thousandth.

So the volume of the ball is approximately 696.910 cubic inches.
