Average of a & b = 18
so sum of a&b = 2*18=36
...
5/9 + 36 = a= 20
...
4/9 * 36 = 16 = b
..
CHECK
20/16 = 5/4
...
20+16 =36 /2 = 18 the average.

.
b = 36 - (5/4)b
b + (5/4)b = 36
2(1/4) b = 36

b = 16
a = (5/4)16 or 20
