You can put this solution on YOUR website!
First number = x
Second number = 4x+10
Sum:
4x+10+x=90
5x+10=90
5x=80
x=16
4(16)+10=74

Hence, the two numbers are 74 and 16.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let the two numbers be a and b.
"The sum of two numbers (a+b) is (=) 90. The second (b) is 10 more (+10) than 4 times the first (4a)" So b = 4a+10 Puting it all together , you have:
a+%2B+b+=+90
a+%2B+4a%2B10+=+90 Simplify and solve for a.
5a+%2B+10+=+90 Subtract 10 from both sides.
5a+=+80 Divide both sides by 5.
a+=+16
b+=+4a%2B10
b+=+4%2816%29%2B10
b+=+64%2B10
b+=+74
Answer:
The two numbers are: 16 and 74
