Question 493323: The question is: (word question)
"Two angles are complementary. The measure of one angle is 21 more than twice the measure of the other angle. Find the measures of the angles."
What I did: (not so good with word questions)
Complementary = 90 degrees.
I was going to try the way I learned in class today, using estimation. The only problem was that my teacher did not explain anything using the word "twice" and what to do. This throws me way off course.

The very bottom is 2y. On the left the bottom split angle is 2y. Can you please help me I really don't understand what I am doing. I know that I have to solve for the variables, but I am totally an algebra person and don't really do well with diagrams. I tried making the 3x-24=114 and got 46 for my answer, then I put 46 in for x on 5x+4 and got 234. Please help! I really am lost, please and very thank you!!!!
