Let x be the smaller angle, then the larger angle is 2x%2B42%29. Two angles are complementary, therefore x%2B%282x%2B42%29=90
x%2B2x%2B42=90
3x=90-42
3x=48
x=48%2F3
x=16°-the smaller angle
the larger angle is 2%2A16%2B42=74%29°
Check: 16+74=90
Answer:16° and 74°
