Two angles are complementary.  x + y = 90

The measure of one anglehighlight%28y%29 is 21 more than twice the measure of the other anglehighlight%28x%29.

Question states***

x + y = 90°    ||y+=+2x%2B21 substituting for y..

x + (2x+21) = 90° 

  3x = 69°   

   x = 23° and y = 67°   ||y+=+2%2A23+%2B21+=+46+%2B+21+=+67 

and..

23° + 67° = 90°
