The two complementary angles will add up to 90 degrees.
3x - 7 + 11x - 1 = 90 degrees.
14x = 98
x = 7
3(7) - 7 = 14 degrees
11(7) - 1 = 76 degrees
14 degrees + 76 degrees = 90 degrees.
