Question 932521: I am definitely confused and can't understand, if you can please explain in detailed steps, I keep going round in circles and my steps are taking forever
I need to rewrite the constraints in slope intercept,
List all vertices of the feasible region as ordered pairs,
list values of the objective function for each vertex,
list maximum or minimum amount, including x and y value
3x+5y >= 35
2x + y <= 14
x >= 0, y>= 0
Maximum for P= 3x + 2y

Question 936830: This is a 3 variable linear equation problem, that I am not sure how to combine to solve. The problem is to solve the system using linear combination method. Here are the three equations:
5x-4y+4z=18
-x+3y-2z=0
4x-2y+7z=3
I have combined the first and second problem to eliminate z, but I don't know what to do from there.
First I distibuted a scale of 2 to the second problem so that the z's would cancel out, and then I solved.
(2)-x+3y-2z=0
-2x+6y-4z=0
5x-4y+4z=18
+ -2x+6y-4z=0

Please help me eliminate another variable so I can solve the rest of the problem.

Question 937348: Hi I have two systems of Equations that I can't seem to solve properly.
Can someone provide complete solutions?
A)x+y=5
X^2+Y^2=25
Right Answer is (0,5) (5,0)
B)3X-4Y=25
X^2+Y^2=25
Right Answer is (3,-4)
I'm know I'm making some kind of stupid small error in my calculations.
Thanks in advance for your help

Question 937538: There is a 20 ft wide and 2 ft long bulletin board. It's asking how many pieces of artwork of each size can she post if she's posting at least 16 pieces of artwork in a row. The sizes are 11.5 in. wide and 12.5 in. long. The other size is 14 in wide and 18.5 in long. We're supposed to make an inequality and graph them to answer but I don't understand how. Help?

Question 939326: Here is my problem, concerning vectors and norms(?)
I have the following information:
u and v are two vectors.
|| u || = 3, || v || = sqrt(5), and u·v = 1 [dot product]. With this information, find
|| u + v || = ?
I know from proofs that it is impossible for || u + v || to be larger than ||u|| + ||v||, but I cannot seem to get the answer for the life of me.
The answer (since this was a practice problem) is 4, and I'd love to know the "how".
Thanks!

Question 941323: Show that vector n [2, 4, 6] is perpendicular to every vector on the plane:
2x + 4y + 6z = 12
I'd offer what I've tried, but honestly, I have no clue. My textbook doesn't seem to illustrate a similar problem, and I cannot find a similar solution in my notes.
Please assist! It's greatly appreciated!
