Question 867004: I have a Linear Algebra question.
If Q is the vector space where f(x)=f^2(x) and f(x)=1 is Q a real vector space?
Assuming it is a subspace of F(Negative Infinity to Infinity) we only need to check the 2 axioms addition and scalar multiplication
1. Addition f(x) + f(x) = 1 + 1 = 2
Here is my question: f(x) = 2 isn't within the space, does that mean we don't have a Real vector space?

Question 867688: Roger buys and plants a tree sapling measured at 3 feet tall. After 1 year of growth, the tree is 4.5 feet tall. After 3 years of growth the tree is 7.5 feet tall. If the growth of the tree were place on a graph, what would be the slope value?
I am given options
A. initial planting height of 3 feet.
B. 4.5 feet after 1 year of growth.
C. Beginnings height of 0 feet.
D. 1.5 feet per year of growth. I think it is D, but I am not sure. I think it would look like y= mx+b, where b would represent Y. I would appreciate some guidance. doing word problems is a major weakness for me. Thank you for your help

Question 879496: Dear Math Tutor,
Simplify [(4x.1/2y^2)] / (2x^-1 y^2)
I simplified it to be: [16x^2. 1/4 y^2]/ (2/x . y^2}
so (16x^2)/1 x x/2 = 8x^3
1/4y^2 x 1/y^2 = 1/4y2
= 8x^3.1/4y^2
Is that correct?
With gratitude,
Nat
