Multiply what's inside the brackets:
8n - 4 = 6n + 4 + 1
:
8n - 4 = 6n + 5
:
Add 4 to both sides
8n - 4 + 4 = 6n + 5 + 4
:
8n = 6n + 9
:
Subtract 6n from both sides:
8n - 6n = 6n - 6n + 9
:
2n = 9

n = 9/2 or 4.5
