You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Determine the f(x) = mx + b, given the slope and y-intercept of the linear function.
x-intercept -4, y-intercept -8
-------------------
x/(-4) + y/(-8) = 1
------
Multiply thru by -8 to get:
2x + y = -8
-----
Solve for "y":
y = -2x-8
----------------

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Determine the slope using the two points (-4,0) and (0,-8).
m=%28-8-0%29%2F%280-%28-4%29%29=-8%2F4=-2
So then using the slope-intercept form of a line,
y=-2x-8
