Question 74728: Please help. I do not even know what to call this.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
-1%282x%2B3y%29=-1%281%29Multiply the 1st equation by -1
+5x%2B3y=16
---------------
3x=15
x=5
Plug this in to find y
5%285%29%2B3y=16
25%2B3y=16
3y=-9
y=-3
So the solution is (5,-3). If you graphed the 2 equations, they would intersect at (5,-3)

Check:
2%285%29%2B3%28-3%29=1Plug in (5,-3)
5%285%29%2B3%28-3%29=16
10-9=1
25-9=16
1=1works
16=16works
