You can put this solution on YOUR website!
+-6x+-+17+%3E=+8x+%2B+25+
Add +17+ to both sides
+-6x+%3E=+8x+%2B+42+
Subtract +8x+ from both sides
+-14x+%3E=+42+
Multiply both sides by +-1+. When you
do this, you have to reverse the inequality sign.
--------------
I always have to reason this out. Suppose you have
+-5+%3E+-10+ obviously true
Now multiply both sides by +-1+
+5+%3E+10+ obviously not true, so
+5+%3C+10+
-----------
+14x+%3C=+-42+
Divide both sides by +14+
+x+%3C=+-3+
-------------
check answer
Suppose +x+=+-3.001+
+-6x+-+17+%3E=+8x+%2B+25+
+-6%2A%28+-3.001+%29+-+17+%3E=+8%2A%28+-3.001+%29+%2B+25+
+18.006+-+17+%3E=+-24.008+%2B+25+
+1.006+%3E=+.992+
OK
