Step one, isolate a variable. I prefer to isolate y.
-5(4x -5y =28)
4(5x +6y =14)
-20x +25y =-140
20x +24y = 56
The x's cancel out leaving you:
49y= -84
then divide. y=-3
To figure out x, you do the same thing except you don't have to use a negative number because there is already one.
6(4x-5y=28)
5(5x+6Y=14)
24x -30y =168
25x +30y =70
29x=238
x= 4.85
