You can put this solution on YOUR website!
1 x + 4 y = 1 .............1

3 x + 2 y = -12 .............2
Eliminate y
multiply (1)by 1
Multiply (2) by -2
1 x 4 y = 1
-6 x -4 y = 24
Add the two equations
-5 x = 25
/ -5
x = -5
plug value of x in (1)
1 x + 4 y = 1
-5 + 4 y = 1
4 y = 1 + 5
4 y = 6
y = 2
x= -5
y= 2
---------------
3 x + 2 y = 6 .............1

1 x -4 y = -6 .............2
Eliminate y
multiply (1)by 2
Multiply (2) by 1
6 x 4 y = 12
1 x -4 y = -6
Add the two equations
7 x = 6
/ 7
x = 1
plug value of x in (1)
3 x + 2 y = 6
3 + 2 y = 6
2 y = 6 -3
2 y = 3
y = 2
x= 1
y= 2
