You can put this solution on YOUR website! To solve your problem combine like terms and then get like terms on the same side of the equation.
Step 1: Combine like terms
3(x-2)+2=2(x-4) becomes 3x-6+2=2x-8
Step 2: Move like terms to the same side
3x-6+2=2x-8 becomes x=-4
Above I took 2x and subtracted it from both sides leaving me with 1x or just X.
Then I took -6 and +2 and combined them to give me -4, then I added 4 to the -4 and added it to -8 on the other side.
Hope this helps.
