The first player hit 7 more home runs than twice the numberhighlight%28x%29    of home runs the second player hit. 

How many home runs did each player hit?

  x + (2x+7) = 79

   3x = 72

    x = 24, number by the second player.  the first playere hit 55.    (48+ 7)
