You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Solve by addition:
1) 3x+9y = 9
2) -x+5y = -3 <---Multiply this equation by 3.
1)3x+9y = 9
2a)-3x+15y = -9 Add these two equations.
-----------
24y = 0 Divide both sides by 24.
y = 0 <---Now substitute this into either equation 1) or equation 2) and solve for x.
1) 3x+9(0) = 9
3x = 9
x = 3
The solution:
(3, 0)
