You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A point defined as (-2, Y) implicates a given x-value as being '-2'.
All you have to do is fill it in the equation:
3x - 2y = -18
if x = -2
-6 - 2y = -18
-2y = -18 + 6
-2y = -12
y = -12/-2
=> y = 6

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
If the point (-2,Y) is a solution fo rthe equation 3x - 2y= -18, what is the value of Y?
So, the value of x in the given equation is -2. Putting the value in the equation we get,
3(-2) - 2y = -18,
or, -6 -2y + 6 = -18 + 6,
or, -2y = -12,
or, -2y / -2 = -12 / -2,
so, y = -6. (answer)
