Question 27159: I have a few questions on solving linear equations. We must use method's 1-graphing, method's 2-substitution, method 3/4- solving with elimination.
here is a questions using method 4:
x+2y=6
5x+3y=2
here is my work-?
1x+2y=6
5x+3y=2
5(1x+2y=6)
1(5x+3y=2)
5x+10y=30
5x+3y=2
13y=32
13 13
y=2.46?
x+2(2.46)=6
1x+4.92=6
-4.92 -4.92
x=1.08?
(1.08,2.46)???

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
5x%2B10y=30
5x%2B3y=2 At this point you need to subtract one equation from the other, not add them. When you do that you get:
7y=28
y=4
Substituting in for the first equation:
x%2B2y=6
x%2B2y=6
x%2B2%284%29=6
x=-2
