Question 218445: I need your help to know if f(x)= |x+4| is a vertical, horizontal, or diagonal translation and how to graph it. I think that the equation is vertical because it is a positive 4. And then if I graph it x would equal 4 and y equal to 0.

I need your help to know if f(x)= |x+4| is a vertical, horizontal, or diagonal translation and how to graph it. I think that the equation is vertical because it is a positive 4. And then if I graph it x would equal 4 and y equal to 0.
-------------------------------------------------------
The root function is y = |x|
When you add 4 to x the graph shifts 4 units to the left.

remember f(x)=y
f(x)=y=/x+4/
