You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Problem: 3x%5E2-9x%2B5%3C0. My question is can I solve this problem using the Quadratic Formula?
YES...let me explain the procedure ..from your question it looks you know the quadratic formula and how to use it to get the 2 values of x which we call roots or solutions for x ...say x=p and x=q are the 2 values .they could be any real numbers like integers 2,5 etc or fractions like 2/3,5/8 etc...or irrational numbers like 2+sqrt3 and 2-sqrt3 (note that the irrational roots occur in conjugate pairs if the original eqn. is with rational coefficients)...
again for simplicity let us call the quadratic as y(y= 3x%5E2-9x%2B5)
now what we have is that x=p or q for y=0..so we can write
y=(x-p)(x-q)=0...but we want y<0..that is negative..it will happen if x is between p and q since in that case if x-p is +ve then x-q will be -ve and viceversa...so the answer is x should be between p and q
