Add both the equations together
(5-5)X+(1+3)Y=6-22
4Y=-16
Y=-4
To find X replace y with -4 in the first equation
5X-4=6
add 4 to both sides
5X=10
divide both sides by 5
X=2
to confirm replace x and y values in second equation
-5x + 3y = -22
-5(2)+3(-4)=-10-12=-22
