Question 101978: after hours of trying to help my kid i cannot figure this out and nothing i can or have tried works
(x/x*x)+(x*x*x/x)+(x*x)=100 using only 1 - 9 Found 2 solutions by stanbon, edjones:Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! (x/x*x)+(x*x*x/x)+(x*x)=100
(1/x)+(x^2)+(x^2) = 100
(1/x) + 2x^2 = 100
Multiply thru by x to get:
1 + 2x^3 = 100x
Rearrange to get:
2x^3-100x+1 = 0
I graphed it to find a solution between 0 and 9
Solution: x= 1/100

You can put this solution on YOUR website! 1/x+x^2+x^2=100
2x^2+1/x=100
2x^3+1=100x multiply time x to eliminate fraction.
2x^3-100x+1=0
As you can see from the graph there are 3 answers.
x=-7.08..., x=.01, x=7.07...
