You can put this solution on YOUR website! Call the numbers of nickels and dimes, n and d. Then we have
n + d = 59 and the value equation is
5n + 10d = 465 (we will work in cents)
Now multiply the top equation by five and subtract...we get
5n + 10d = 465
-(5n + 5d = 295)

d = 34 dimes and thus
n = 25 nickels
