Question 850147: How do I find the solution to this problem using my TI-30xs?
If cos of theta = 0.4, then find tan of theta. Found 2 solutions by rothauserc, Edwin McCravy:Answer by rothauserc(4718) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! sec(x) = 1 / cos(x) = 1 / 0.4 = 2.5
tan^2(x) + 1 = sec^2(x)
tan^2(x) = sec^2(x) - 1 = 2.5^2 - 1 = 5.25
tan(x) = sqrt(5.25) = 2.29
