You can put this solution on YOUR website!
if the slope of the road shown is 2/3, find the value of h is v=5ft?
:
One definition of slope is "rise over run" or vertical/horizontal
:
You know the vertical is 5 ft, so we can write a ratio equation
5%2Fh = 2%2F3
cross multiply
2h = 3*5
2h = 15
h = 15/2
h = 71%2F2 is the horizontal
