Question 624237: I am confused on how to figure out the Sine of an Angle if you are given the tan of 1.936 also on how to figure out the tan of an Angle if you are given the sec of 1.3698.
find sine, if given the tan of 1.936
Find tan, if given the sec of 1.3698
If someone could explain how to do that I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you

Hi,
find sinθ, if given the tanθ = 1.936
Find tanθ, if given the secθ of 1.3698
Note: Find θ for Info given... Whether using a table or a calculator ...
for ex: If tanθ = 1.936 ⇒ θ is ~ 62.68° and sin62.68° =.8885 (on my calculator)
hope this helps

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
find sine, if given the tan of 1.936
Plot the terminal point on the x-y plane, point (1,1.936)
tan = y/x, a line from the Origin thru the point will have the atan(1.936) (from the x-axis)
---------------
r+=+sqrt%281%5E2+%2B+1.936%5E2%29+=+sqrt%284.748096%29
r =~ 2.179
sin = y/r
sin =~ 0.88848
Note: this is the principal value in Quadrant 1
---------------
Find tan(t), if given the sec of 1.3698
cos = 1/sec = 1/1.3698
sin%28t%29+=+sqrt%281+-+cos%5E2%28t%29%29+=+0.46705
tan = sin/cos = 0.63977
