You can put this solution on YOUR website!
how to graph:
Here is the equation:
y = cot (1/2 x)
**
Standard form of equation for cos function:y=Acot(Bx-C), Period=π/B, Phase shift=C/B, A=multiplier which stretches the curve vertically.
..
For given cot function:
A=1, so there is no stretching
Phase shift: none
B=1/2
Period: π/B=π/(1/2)=2π
..
Graphing for one period:
On an (x,y) coordinate system, draw vertical asymptotes at x=0, and x=2π
On the x-axis, make tick marks at π/2, π, and 3π/2.
At these x-values, y=1, 0 and -1 respectively
With the 2 vertical asymptotes and 3 points, you should be able to draw the graph of
y=cot(1/2 x)
